Congress Information

Language

English will be used in every session of the Congress with no simultaneous interpretation.

Congress Format

The program will contain the following formats:

· Free Communications: Oral and Posters.

· Plenary Sessions

· Special lectures

· Work shops

· Courses

Format Descriptions

A variety of instructional format are used for presenting at the congress. Before selecting a format, please review the descriptions below to determine which is most appropriate for your proposed presentation.

Courses

These 240 minutes' sessions present advanced material on a chosen topic. Course must be designed to emphasize learning experiences that actively involve participants and include an opportunity for an informal exchange with the faculty. Course selection is based on content, objectives and format.

Free Communications

1. Oral Presentations: Presenter shows his work on Slides or with Power Point presentation.10 minutes for presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions.

2. Poster Presentations: brief introduction from each poster presenter by his/her poster. Posters are an important part of the congress and remain in place throughout.

3. Audience is the passive participant who doesn't present an abstract in the congress.**

* It is not possible to change between poster and free presentation during the congress.

** We have limited number for audiences

Topic List

The Scientific Program Committee will use this topic list to help classify the area of each submission. Furthermore, your submission will be listed in the Program and Abstract Book under the topic indicated to assist the participants in selecting the sessions of interest.

1. Public Health

Is one of the major tracks. All abstracts dealing with public health, epidemiology, occupational and environmental medicine are placed here.

2. Internal Medicine

Is divided into cardiology, dermatology, hematology, nephrology, gastroenterology and neurology. According to the number of accepted abstracts, these sessions are divided into the above mentioned topics.

3. Surgery

4. Pediatrics

5. Obstetrics & Gynecology

6. Immunology & Microbiology

7. Oncology

8. Ophthalmology

9. Molecular Biology

10. Free Medical Topics

All other accepted abstracts that cannot be classified under the major tracks are included here. A huge diversity of professors is invited to be the scientific jury for these sessions.

Essential for Poster Presentation

The poster exhibitions will be held in sessions. Posters should be 70 cm. in width and 100 cm. in length. Posters must include the title of the presentation, name of the author(s), introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion and conclusion. The authors may prepare hand-out materials to distribute during the poster session. A discussion time will be reserved for each poster session. Requirements or tools for setting up posters must be provided by the presenters of posters who are kindly requested to stay with their posters during the discussion period.

Preparation of Abstracts

All abstracts must be prepared in English. The program and Abstract Book will be published in English only. Incomplete submission of abstracts will not be considered. Selected papers will be published in the proceedings.

Number of Presentations

The Scientific Committee encourages participants at the congress to limit their presentations and participation to no more than two during the congress in order to minimize conflicts in schedule and to give the opportunity for others to present their papers.

Deadline

The deadline for submission your abstract will be January 10, 2004.
